Hi all
i'm new here. just want to share my story of addiction in the M world!
Last year i bought my lovely M6 ( sold by Flash-Gordon, you must know him, a great guy indeed), it was mint, black paint, very very nice and since i could't afford a Leica lens he advise one of the next best thing, IMO... a konica hexanon 50 f2. wow!!! again, in excellent condition. well, i must say i had my doubts. well it turns out, i've taken the best pictures i have ever made (again, imo). The feel of the body and the smoothness of the focus, simply amazing, so good i took it in my vacations to NY, best vacations ever and best photos ever. well, all good storys have a bad ending, and i sold it last week. Flash-Gordon did told me several times: don't do it, you will regrett it, big time. But i don't use it a lot and i need the money, have to buy lens for my nikon D3.
Guess what...?!!! i did regrett it, and didn't bought any nikon lens, instead i bought a Mamiya 7 with the 80 f4. good deal in all, but now starts my inner battle to buy another Leica. i must be nuts (i know i am), my mind is saying i don't need it, my heart is weak he's saying i should and don't look back. ahahahahaha still don't know what to do... if you guys want to help. i'm all ears. ehehehehhe. leave with some pics from this vacation on my little sad story.
All with Tri-x 400, Leica M6 classic and the Hexanon. don't you think it has some of that "Leica Look" or is it just me?
i will post more soon. have to resize them.

HUGE MISTAKE! go get that M back. D3 is lovely, i have a d700 myself. But the size is absurd sometimes for say, a vacation. M's complement our nikons perfectly. i can attest to that

rangefinder freak!
joao is a very good friend of mine.
I sold him the camera
Here I'm not Hulk but flash-gordon, hehe
I told him many times not to sell it and to sell the nikon
Now he as another great camera but still misses his Leica.
He shoul'd have learned with me that once sold my MP, and didn't rest until I got it back
Anyway, welcome Joao!

Have to agree: great combination, and particularly the lens. I have a Hex 50 and liked it so much that I also bought the Hex 28mm. Love the ergonomics and look. You can't go wrong with the Mamiya 7 (warn you now - don't sell it either), but MF has a different place than 35mm or digital as talked about extensively on RFF. I have all three formats and shoot digital > 35mm > MF, but my best shots are invariably MF. Different process. So it's hard not to recommend getting back into 35mm and another Hex 50, they will be complementary to your Mamiya.

You just remind me of another mistake... Flash-Gordon did send a Hex 28, for me to try out, i took it to NY also, You can't go wrong with a wide and normal lens. At the end i return it because i thoght i wouldn't miss it. WRONG!!!! And what a sharp lens that is. I have to Get another M... I'm thinking in selling my pro digital gear. You never know, someday i might to gather the funds for the new M9-P. Ehhehehehhehe

M-Hex 50 is the best modern 50/2 IMHO... better flare resistance than the Cron, less contrast than the Planar, most consistently-solid build quality of all three, and the lowest used price of all three.
