At 20, in the mustard-yellow suedette trousers, mosquito boots and kaftan, with the hair down to my shoulders, or the jeans and Tibetan shirts at 30... Yeah, fine. I wore what I felt like then, and I wear what I feel like now.

Even when I was 16 (501s, roll-necks, ex-Bundeswehr combat jacket), I figured that the girls who wanted the fashion of the day would probably not be interested in me, so why should I worry about them?

Sounds to me like you have a legal contract for co-habitation instead of a marriage. A Marriage is made of more sturdier material at multiple layers than a legal document alone can quantify.

Last weekend I was on a kinda of swap meet, with loads of "artistic" hand made stuff, mostly by young girls. I heard "oh look at his camera" and got some looks so Leica is approved by fashion-oriented wannabe-artist chicks.

After quite a lot of field testing in upscale neighborhoods, I have determined that out of all the cameras I own, the best chick magnet is my Zeiss Contaflex I. It gets even more attention than Screwmount or M Leicas. 😎

I've always been a boots and jeans type of bloke and when I made the outrageous decision to get married for the second time in the early nineties my wife tried to change the way I dressed. She bought me a pair of those awful 'boat shoes' with the leather drawstring running around the edge and suggested I could wear them when we went out on Sunday mornings to have coffee and croissants wth her trendy friends!

She's long gone and so are the shoes! 😛
