almost, just about...

so...what if i like the x100?
then what?

when would i use it?
in place of what? the rd1 with a 28 or my lovely little 40?
would i end up selling one of the rd1s?
or use all 3 cameras?

what if i like it better than the rd1?
i could sell both bodies and get a used m8.2...?

see, this is my problem...over thinking these things!

Well if you do happen to buy it, be sure to get a San-Disk Extreme Pro card (8GB) and only format the card in-camera. This provides optimum performance.

Logic says to sell one of the Epson bodies ... keep one for using with lenses that give a longer field of view than 35mm with a 1.5 crop factor.

What's your problem here ... stop procrastinating!

it's sunday...pro shop closed...thank goodness.

i am not a logical person...

Funny thread, this is like watching a version of "In treatment" for photographers. Very recognizable dilemma by the way Joe. The fact that you hesitate I think answers the question. I would not buy the x100 if I were you, is it really that more pocketable than a RD?

very much so...it would easily fit into a terraclime 50...the rd1 body alone might.

i'm thinking that we should add a therapist to the list of mentors...

Too late ... maybe that should have been done a while ago!

Then again we have dentists, architects, lawyers, accountants ... surely we have a few shrinks who can volunteer their time? :D

as a man of limited means i cannot complain about my photo gear fortunes...it would be absurd to do so.

but as a man of limited means...the x100 represents a short trip, a new big screen (i still have a tube t.v.!) a very nice dent in my credit card balance etc.

therein lies part of the dilema...

You like the camera and you like all the images you are seeing from it ... and the price is not over the top considering what it's capable of.

I don't really understand why you're hesitating ... or are you just delaying the 'kill' for the hell of it? :D
Sometimes when I am lusting for the perfect cup of coffee (and I have splitting coffee headache), I go to my favorite coffee shop and order my favorite cup of java and sit and just look at for awhile and suffer until I can not wait any longer. Then Boom!!!:D

and for the record, i have been looking at that m4 since it was posted.

just don't think film would make me happy any longer...
