How about those street portraits Renzsu, did you just walk up to people and ask them? Tell us, I really like those shots!
Yup, that's it really.. I see someone, ask them, set them up on the right spot, snap a few frames and thank them, doesn't have to take more than a minute really. No secret formula

do you offer to send it to them? I bet they wont get a better headshot anywhere. Great work

That 'terrible' one with the blown highlights - is that the 50 Sonnar? You obviously have great people skills as well as camera.

Thanks, I usually don't offer to be honest, although I won't say no when they ask me if I can email them a copy.

Ah no these are all taken with the f/1 noctilux. I seem to have a solid copy that is bang on with the focus wide open, not that I use it much at any other distance than 1 meter, it works great for what I use it for
these black & white's rock! Great piece of work!
Thanks!

Liking the 2nd and 3rd shot there Michael, did you bring that magazine or do they have NGM over there? First one has too much distortion for me to be honest.
I had a faintly gleaming interest in this type of photography, but you killed this interest entirely with the beautiful samples of your "street portraiture" (I don't like any terms involving the overused word "street", but can't fathom any better substitute at the moment).
Great shots.

Hey Thanks a lot Renzsu.......I agree with the distortion on the 3rd image, but that's what I get for using the 15mm at such a close distance.....I have learned to live with it.....interestingly, the photo of the monk reading the National Geographic was shot with the 15mm too, but at a different distance/composition, and therefore it looks more "pleasing"........
I brought the National Geographic from Thailand (though it is avaliable in Myanmar)...I bought it for the sole purpose of reading it on my birthday at the Shwedagon Pagoda....I spent 13 hours there.....it was amazing to see the interest that the locals took to the magazine....and I also like the photo opportunities that it presented

I love this photo

cheers, michael
