I tried C41 at home...

Rollei Digibase C41 at 25C (13min). The grain was bigger than expected althougth it was expired film (Reala expired in 2007). Maybe too much agitation or temperature went up a bit during development... Anyway, I'm happy I did it...

Try with the usual 38C temperature and you'll see much better colors and virtually no grain. Actually, just the developer must be precisely 38C for the entire time (3min 15 secs). With other liquids you can relax a little bit. I use a warm water bath for the temperature control.

Yes, will have to try at 38. As i have Jobo processor, temperature control should not be an issue. I was curious however about this 25C method as easy temperature control was very apealing.

Good work. I will try this too. After mixing up the chemicals, do they have to be used right away? I guess one should have a bunch of colour neg rolls already shot and waiting to develop?

I was reading various forums, opinions are mixed, but it should be OK for at least about 2 weeks. I mixed 500ml which is for 10-12 rolls.

Well, I have just processed another two films at 38C, films are still drying and it is hard to say before scanning if it is better, but I hope so... Will update soon...

Update: at 38C indeed color management is easier and there is less grain...

This is more like it. Well done! I did a few rolls of 2007 expired Reala 400 (shot at EI200) in Rollei Digibase earlier this year and was really happy with the outcome. Actually I've been thinking of skipping the B&W and move over to C41 process entirely.

You did a great job! I use C-41 process too sometimes at home. Its great and easy with Rollei C-41 or Tetenal Colortec kits.
