I like those images, but the DOF on the image of the horse seems too deep to be f:1.1. Did you lighten the corners? Because I do get some vignetting at f:1.1 (of f:1) with both...
Brian, I have one of your old lenses... a kind of semi-screwed (supposedly) up 50mm F2 rigid summicron that was up for sale on classifieds for like $350 (had sharpie on the front element)... I was meaning to tell you how great it's been working out on the M9.
I haven't seen any issues with it:

Thankyou! I learned a lot about Rigid Summicrons with that lens! "Fit and Finish", the Leitz lenses were individually fit, and I tried 3 front elements to get oen close enough to the original.

......There is a bit of focus shift as you stop down. A bit of trial and error helps in that respect - by focussing then leaning back a ffew inches...................
Doesn't the focus move back so that to correct it you would lean forward?

No, you need to pull back a smidge to move that shifted focal point forwards, onto your subject. The 1,5/50 Sonnar ZM works the opposite.
Thank you. I get it!
How bad is the shift on this lens? a few mm, cm or a few inches?
Thanks...so we are talking about mm off?
The focus shift from F1.1 to F2.8 is a good fraction of an inch at closest focus. It is about the same as a Sonnar forumula F1.5 lens.
I optimized my lens for the M9 for wide-open use by adding one layer of copper tape (0.025mm or so) on the RF cam. I can use it at F1.1 across the full focus range, so the focal length is spot-on. Yesterday used it at a Skating rink with a Leica 1.25x magnifier on the M9, no problems even with "disco-lights and LASERS" as the only lighting source.

Here's yet another review of the Nokton on M9 by Steve Huff done way back in November 2009.

These fellows (135street) visited RFF a little while ago with reviews. Below is a link for Nokton part 1&2, and a look at the Leica .095.

Up to maybe 1cm generally or 2cm at the worst - and really just in the center.
Cool, sometimes that Sonnar 1.5 felt like inches...
Well, I finally bought this lens. I had to get it out of my system.

If anyone else wants to get this lens out of their system they should buy mine. I chose it over the Sonnar a few months ago. Then someone traded me a Sonnar and an M2. I don't want to hoard lenses so having two 50s is unnecessary. The rest of my kit is compact, so the Sonnar just makes more sense.
