Oktoberfest is going well in Helen, Georgia! Met up with Paul, Katie and their son and his girlfriend yesterday for a great time over lunch and Paulaner beer! Of course, heh heh, photography was the main topic of discussion between us guys.;)

Paul was kind enough to let me try out his Barnack camera, having only held a few in the past and being duly impressed. But I was even more impressed with the handling of the little jewel! Also impressed with the 50mm Color Skopar lens, it is SO compact.

Here's hoping I didn't blow the focus on the frames I shot... looks like the M9 has just ratcheted down one notch on the bucket list, just after a IIIc!

I have multiple samples of each M model and later R series, but the 111c and 111f still get used. I consider them classics.

You should have seen the look I got one day from a pro photog when there was my pro Nikon D3 around my neck and a 111c in my hand. Probably thought I was nuts.

'Tis called the "look of jealousy".:p

Dave, do yourself a favor and get a nice iiic (the least costly of the one piece frame Barnacks). I love them and also find myself using them while a "modern" camera stays in the bag. If my eyes hold up I'll never get rid of any of the ones I own.

Dave, glad you had a chance to handle one again. They are addicting :) I'll never part with my IIIf/Summitar/SBOOI combo.

barnacks are addictive.

i have an iiic with summitar before...
now with a coatless sonnar 1,5.

the summitar was not bad, but i enjoy the speed of 1,5 at night.

Well Dave , sounds like you had a good time! The only "Barnack" I'm able to handle is to choose between my Canon III or the Canon IIs2. But Christmas is coming up! All hope lies with Santa as Ms Bee is as broke as I am . Who knows, Santa may pay you a visit!!!!!;)
