Nikon F6 - Wow!

had an F100 which i liked very much, sold it when I touched the F6 for the first time, pure perfection, there's those last 15% more which are important to me.

Sace your money and buy an F5. Essentially the same camera at 1/5th the price. The sifferences are quibbles IMHO.

An F5 will never be an F6 IMO ... if you have your heart set on an F6 and can afford the extra don't consider the F5 because you'll always wonder what you missed out on even if the differences are minor.

I tend not to use auto focus on my F6 or D700 because they both have such good finders for AF cameras but on the odd occasions I have used AF the F6 seems a little faster and more positive to me. I wish my D700 felt as good in the hands as it's film counterpart ... it feels quite unwieldy in comparison for some reason. Better weight distribution and a slightly longer thinner body make the F6 handle completely differently!

The perfect answer, Keith! One can buy a very nice F6, use it for six months to a year and sell it...net cost...-0-... you get to use the F6 for FREE!

The F5s are so cheap now as to be an almost pocket-change purchase and a very wise one indeed. But life is too short, experience the F6 while you can get a very nice one, or even a NEW one.:angel:

fully agree, only i feel that the finder on the F6 is bigger and much crisper than the one from D700, or is it just me?..
