Bare Bones Bag

I o

My gear:

- Leica M6 + 50mm
- Nikon D7000 + 28mm & 85mm
- Seikonic L-398M

It might be a bit tight in there, but judging from the pics it should be doable.

-> Oh! Forgot to ask... that shoulder pad is *removable* right? Can't stand shoulder pads.

Yes I think your gear will fit. I dont know exactly if the Nikon will do with a lens mounted cause I dont know the lenses.
The shoulder pat is removable, yes.
Go for the BBBE. You will love it as we do. :)

Without a cover+ the iPad1 fits. I have a rubber cover for my iPad1 and it fits but it is hard to close the zip.

Go for it. :D

Thanks for that. Mine lives in its rubbery apple case but having seen this bag I am rather attracted to it! ;)

Right, asking questions again. I would want to put my M6 with lens, NEX-5N with lens (leica +adaptor), 90mm f2.8 elmarit, ipad and some film, notebook, cleaning stuff in one of these. Would it all fit or would it be snug?

Yes that should be fine... I assume the notebook will fit in one of the front pockets... look at the pictures online... you can fit a lot in one of these bags but as always dont over fill for the best carry.

Ok, I caved in. Resistance was futile. After a good 2 years of beating around the bush - I put in my order for BBB-E last night. Now starts the painful wait.. when will it arrive and how much will customs penalize me.

Mine shipped about 10 days ago, currently somewhere in the UK customs.

I looked at many bags before deciding on the BBBE including: Billingham, A&A, Domke & M Classics.

The BBBE just seemed to have the edge for size but obviously I will report once the shipment turns up.

RE cost, after customs charges, the BBBE is still going to cost less than an A&A bag.

I'm thinking about getting the new one (I've already brought the two previous versions) it might make carrying three bodies plus my kindle a bit easier...

Yep, something fishy with the site currently. Hopefully fixed soon...

Anyway, I got my bag today! It looks brilliant in black. Barely made it to the post office, so haven't had the time to try it out yet. I did stuff my M9 + 3 lenses in there just to see how it works though.. and it's all good!

In the three inner compartments, I put 90mm rokkor at the bottom of compartment 1 and then pulled the "splitter" on top, so I could also put my 28/2.8 biogon in there as well. In the middle I inserted my M9 + 50 slux pre-asph sideways and still have 1 compartment left! It's good.. can put a bottle of water in there or my film point & shoot.

And still the bag feels extremely light. Can't wait to get it out and try.

So far, it's been a positive experience - even more so than I expected.

Just an update... the Figital Revolution site is closed till I decide what to do next with it but the BBBE can still be ordered at www.barebonesbag.com

I have just tested with the new iPad and it fits fine but I am going to add a slight increase in size in future models of the BBBE to help people with thicker cases...

I was considering getting the new iPad but I've just got the current BBBE. How tight is it with a case on, anyone know?

I've got an iPad 2 in a slim case with the BBBE and it was a wee bit snug at first but loosened up after a couple of days such that now it fits fine. The issue wasn't so much with the size of the back pocket, but rather, how easy it was to close the zipper.
