I mainly use TMY. TMX when I want that silky smooth look. On occasion I'll shoot HP5, but through all the years ( 32 ) of making images, TMX, Tri-x and TMY have been my go-to films.
I've been looking at my digital black and white conversions and thinking they were pretty reasonable compared to good black and white film .... then saw this! 😱
i use TriX but i dont plan on paying crazy prices.. and since i dont self-develop, and my local lab only process BW weekly.. Illford works for me.. and yes.. sometimes.. i cheat a little.. i shoot with cheap color negatives and remove saturation in LR.. sorry
My favourite film is Kodak TRI-X and I have voted ILFORD HP5 as an alternative.
TRI-X>>>It is not in the list, here is an EX> what I photograph and it suits any kind of lighting.
