Never thought of doing that. Have to say though, I'm pretty happy with how 1600 looks and never really feel the need for more.

God, I remember the days I wouldm't shoot at anything over 800 on a D3!

Hi :) I'm new to this forum so this is my first post. I'm not too familiar with the rules either so give me a heads up if i break any :p

I recently bought an RD-1 from this forum actually :) haven't had a chance to really explore this forum much yet but I'm getting used to it slowly :p

welcome hillary...patrick mentioned that you bought an rd1...i have been wondering what your images might look like...so far so good!

Ray, beautiful stuff - keep posting!
I like also the look of your B&W photographs with the R-D1. This camera suits you obviously.

Welcome Hillary!

Is it correct that its something like $200/day to travel in Bhutan, as the average person cannot travel freely and is on some rigid-like tour? Someone told me that recently and it was disappointing, though i have no immediate plans to travel there :p

huntjump: it's all true. Bhutan is trying to avoid the problem of nepal, which has a lot of uncontrolled tourism dollars not flowing back to building the basic infrastructure of the country. the place is very beautiful and unspoilt.

ps. of course, being a business traveller, I am exempted from the tourism tax :)
