Canon Serenar 50/1.5 on G1

良かったね!
I changed the shim on my Canon to optimize for F1.5, and it made a real difference. It is sharp, the Bokeh is smoother than the Nikkor. The Nikkor has close-focus ability that few Leica mount lenses can match. I made a J-8 match it.
When I first got one, I didn't much like the oof rendering of the Nikkor 50/2 relative to other lenses. I appreciated the engineering feat that is its close focus ability, but on film this was largely useless to me. Putting this lens on a Nex has given me new appreciation for it, however. Quite versatile now that I can verify the close focus in real time.
[Funny note - my local shop tech was discussing the nikkor close focus design and he broke his Japanese into English only once, to call it the "God lens."]

Loving Analog
I used this lens ...and i find it okay for my copy...
Just for a little fun of it, can you tell the difference between the 3 which is from the 1.4 and which is from the 1.5? Oso which is from a 1.8?
All the shots are shot wide open and around the min focus distance...sorry for the different pics...didnt really do a test shot for all these 3 lens....maybe i should one day

It's going to be a great experience, Pan F. I think this is the best rangefinder camera and lens they made.
