For all of you who enjoy guessing what lens left a particular signature give this one a go. Seems to have plenty of character so give it a try. I'll reveal all in a day or so. Sorry about the light sabre coming out of this fellows head just wasn't seeing too clearly.

35mm Summicron ver.1 (8-element)? Just a guess of course.

VC 35mm f/..... 1.7? (I don't know the differences between the 1.4 which I have and the 1.7, so I'm going on a feeling with the 1.7 guess.) On TMY-2? or TMX.... that's what I think. Or Delta equivalents.
If that's wrong I'd go Nikon 35/1.8. Third place, Canon 35/1.5

The best camera is one that still works!
That OOF area bottom right looks supiciously like a CV 35mm f1.4.

I don't own a 35 0r 40 Nokton but I was under the impression that these two lenses were designed to give a somewhat similar rendering to that of the 35 Summilux. If you take a moment to google the lens diagrams for the 40 Nokton & 35 pre asph Summilux you'll find the basic design is the same.

That is what I thought too when I seen the photo example yesterday.

what! are you suggesting that the Nocton's poor bokeh and distortion are also present in a Leica lens?

Just checked an the link to KR page dosen't work but if you Google 35 Summilux pre asph diagram you'll find it.
Regarding the bokeh and distortion what you see is what you get!

This shot looks very Canon 35/1.8ish but with 35/2 canon contrast. I thought I had seen the last of the 'footballs' after I sold my canon but they sometimes appear in shots from my 35 'lux too. I expect you have experienced the same and that's why you posted this shot as it would throw people off? Footballs in a leica lens? OMG

A day late and a dollar short to this discussion but I would have thought it was a pre asph 35 lux. The photo's rendering is similar to what I got with my 35 lux. I was always under the impression that the CVs had similar rendering to the 35 lux given the similar optical layout.
