Canon RF SM lenses on Leica bodies

I'm using a F1.8 SM lens thru adapter on a M3 body. Can there be a back focus problem causing a RF image to be off for a plane of focus?

Can there be? Yes.

Should there be/is it likely? No. At least, with a decent adapter.

There should not be a problem provided the adaptor is manufactured to the correct thickness. Some cheap adapters are suspect. I use Leica and CV adapters for ltm lenses (Canon, Leica, and CV) on my M mount bodies.

I'm using an original Leica adapter so I guess I'm ok.

I only own and use Leitz adapters. No problems with LTM lenses from Canon, Nikkor & Konica.
