A couple of weeks ago I found a like new M3 single stroke in an Alabama antique store. Asking price was an amazing $120.00 but I got it for 10% off.
It was worth the trip to the central time zone!

The membership frown upon such outlandish claims without adequate pictures of the alleged find.

Congrats and what a find. A couple of years ago I picked up a working CL and Summicron C in mint condition for 35 dollars at an antique shop. You never know what you might run across.

Great find, that kind of stuff never happens in Japan as virtually everyone knows what a Leica is and that it's supposed to be expensive.
I was lucky and picked up an M3 with some damage myself the other day for $250 in the classifieds. I intend to fix it up to its original glory.

I've actually never seen a Leica for sale in a thrift store or even an antique store. It seems pretty well picked over here in Michigan. I have however managed great finds.
Just yesterday I bought a Yashica T4 and a Polaroid 450, it was a Zeiss day for me
Welcome to RFF, prepare yourself, your next Leica won't be had so cheaply!

Two months ago I bought an operational Leica M2 from KEH for $144. I have never seen a listing for a M Leica so inexpensive from KEH.
So if KEH drops the ball, how is a antique shop suppose to get it right?
Good luck with your new Leica Leica M3. Now go forth and photograph...

What was mounted on the M3?
It has a 3.5 35 mm Summicron ... looks good but the focus is very hard to move, so stiff that I don't want to try. Hopefully a good cleaning will be what it needs.
I also got. f4 90 mm Summicron for it. I got a thread mount unit and an adaptor. Seems to work great.
Next will be a couple of yellow filters for B&W work and lens hoods.
Does anyone know what size filters I need?
Also a little searching on the web tells me that the camera body was built in 1966 (I'm thinking of it as a high school graduation present to myself). Can anyone point me to information on when my lenses were made?
