There's nothing wrong with caring about new camera models, and there is nothing wrong with ignoring new camera models. Whatever works.

Exactly. If u got what u need, ignore. Technology needs to move forward.. When we went to digital based photography, we joined the technology rat race.. The is going to be always something better next week, next month, next year. U just need to decide when u want to jump in... If u are happy w/ what u got... Just ignore...
If Fuji does not bring out new stuff every so often, then they will be over taken by their competitors and their stock holders are not going to be happy...
For me, what I have I am already pretty happy with. I only want to eventually get the 14 and the 27 in terms of lenses. Whether I jump on the next gen xp1/xe1 depends. At this point, I am happy enough to do what I do w/ other digital technologies, buy one or so generations later, instead of staying up with the current or skip a generation..
For example, things like the iPhone... I have the 4s, which is plenty good enough for me.. No interest in the 5.. Will I get the 6, not sure right now.
In any case, I always like to read about the rumors or the new stuff coming out... It is the gear head in me.

The alleged Fuji XM-1 is going to be a monochrome only XP-1 using the dual phase detection AF technology to produce a virtual version of the analog RF focus patch.
That would be nice.

. Just a matter of time of course as in anything else in technology.

Well yes of course, I am jesting.
The rumor threads always make me laugh. They all seem to follow a similar pattern of follow-up posts.

rumours...better than gossip!
... ah, OK, sorry ... I thought we could hold, and discus a variety of divergent opinions here, I shall refrain from further contribution.
Man, it's not like that. Please carry on as you wish. You had an opinion and I had one, that's all.

Rumors are like the little engine that could as they provide so much joy and inspiration, until they're ran over the the fright train of reality

I'm interested in looking at the new x pro 2 but frankly love my x pro. even if I was to gulp...upgrade, i think I would keep it as backup, convert it to infrared, or otherwise. It just seems to deserve a place for me. I kept my F3 for years and years. The x pro renewed that vitality again...where I actually keep, learn, and enjoy the experience.

Agreed, every once in a while a camera comes along that seems to simply get it.

I'm not able to sell my old, or not recent cameras. This is why I'm very careful when buying.
