I planned it to be with my iPhone: Joe Patti's Seafood in Pensacola

I have been frequenting Joe Patti's Seafood for many years since I moved to Pensacola in 1987. This fish market is really the Nr. 1 local attraction (after our beaches). The son (Frank Patti) is now 91 years old, and he still shows up to work inside the fish market. I decided to have a brief chat with him about my wish to be allowed access again to outside the market where the migrating birds stop each year. It is off-limits to all due to the damages by Hurricane Sally. Mr. Patti told me that as long as I did not eat any birds there, I was welcome to walk around there and take photos.

This brings me to why I am posting this thread here. I had with me a Leica M9 and M10, but I used my iPhone. It felt more appropriate with the Tintype App. What do you think?

I have over a thousand images that I have taken with many different RF lenses over the year at JP. It was/is my favorite testing place for lenses. The views are similar, and it is more appealing to me than using a brick wall. I expect soon the migrating birds to arrive by the hundreds from Canada. Usually, a 35mm~50mm is best suited then. My iPhone will be also with me.

Next time try with the M10 and the new CV 50mm f1 ! LOL! Just joking !

He seems to be a man used to have contact with people, clients, friends, workers....

Next time I will use the M10 with any OLD 50mm lens and setting ISO to 2000 or so.

Since Frank P took over the business, their annual sales jumped from 2 million $ to over $14 million. He also owns a shipping business.
His local TV ads for JP Seafood always have him show his love for fish and seafood "this is what it is all about".
You could say it is similar to us talking about a new RF lens 🙂

I did not use any filter at all. The app is like that. I can edit each image in my phone, with the option to "revert" to the original image without the app.

Nice connection Raid. I like the Tintype app. I loved my iPhone 3GS. It had a look. The better the camera got with the later phones the less interest I had in them. But my current iPhone 11 Pro with the three discrete focal lengths and the amazing low light capability is certainly a wonder and I use it a lot.

I also like the camera in the iPhone 8. I may one day get an iPhone model later than the XR. I don't depend on its camera. It is there for sudden snapshots.

As it has been pointed out above, "there is too much filtering" with this app. The cure for such feelings is to use the M9 and M10 with excellent lenses and without any filters, of course. I will set aside the tintype app for a little until I find a suitable application for it.

I use the Hipstamatic Tintype App too, but in particular situations and when I am in the mood. I like it mainly for old, weathered buildings but love your photo #1. Next are the outdoor reflection shots. I would revert the others to the normal view.
