My guess is once the reviews come in and the results are as hoped then many will be offloading their fast glass for it...alot will be on the secondhand market...maybe grab a bargain
I tend to try things first-hand, get odd results, look for the cause. The 50/1.1 is a real "Rodney Dangerfield" lens. I've had mine for over 10 years now. Never bothered to convert the Canon 50/0.95 to Leica mount as it is so good.

A Leica Noctilux at a discount price? 🙂
Maybe not.
The CV 50/1.1 and 50/1.2 will most likely drop in cost.
The CV 50/1 will not impact the cost of the cheap 7Art lens, say.
I'm intrigued and optimistic, but I think I'll wait for the initial deliveries and real-life reports before pulling the trigger myself.
Interesting to note, I bought my first f/1 Noctilux in around 1998 for $1,500. I miss those days!
About that time I purchased a new chrome 4th 35mm Summicron for the then staggering price of $999. Ha, ha, should've bought a wheelbarrow full of them.
I sure hope so. I never got along well with the CV 50mm f/1.1 - especially wide-open. I owned three copies over about a two year period and each didn't fail to disappoint.... I am interested in using it wide open for many images, first. I wonder if the OFF is different from the same situation with the CV 50/1.1. What am I getting that is "better"? I am curious.
Focus shift and edgy bokeh. What was not working well with the 50/1,1, Bill?
