I've see the aerial 50mm frame lines in the 111G are the same size as in the M2, the difference being a larger view surrounding the frame in the M2 and then less claustrophobic after comparing the two views.

Yay! Cameras! 🙈🙉🙊┌( ಠ_ಠ)┘ [◉"]
They're both loaded and ready to go. I also picked up the summaron lens to use too. IIIF has kodak gold 200, IIIG has Ilford FP4.
Nice pair. Congrats and happy shooting!

Back “in the day”, when I shopped in a little hole in the wall camera shop in Philadelphia, there were two Leicas to choose from. A IIIc and a IIIf. My wife told me to buy the IIIc because it looked like the IIIf was “giving me the finger”. And you know, in a half century plus of taking pictures, I only used a self timer Once. I like how Mike Eckman refers to the ST as a “self destruct lever”.

I'll agree with that. As battered as this IIIg is, not having the self-timer cluttering it up is a huge improvement.

LOL! Now I won’t be able to unsee that on the iiig.

You think that's bad? Someone pointed out to me years ago that the classic M3-style film advance lever looks vaguely like an erect penis.
Never looked at it the same way since.

Very happy so far with the leica iiig and summitar lens. Some wonderful keepers from the first roll.
This is a really evocative shot - definitely a fan of that. Looks like you're bonding to the IIIg well!

FWIW I have 13 or 14 years of Christmas family group pictures all taken using the ST on the same IIIf.
