Junk magnet
I'm trying to sort out a Prontor-S shutter that I managed to spill lighter fluid into (don't ask!), with the usual results caused by dissolved grease spreading everywhere. Very frustrating as before I removed it to clean the lens up it was working nicely.
Having dismantled it all the way bar removing the self-timer escapement(and spent an age trying to get the main spring back on - note to self, don't ever remove one again!), I now find that I've got 2 speeds - B works, and 1/300 looks OKish, but the rest from 1 second to 1/100th are much the same.
Can anyone suggest what I've got wrong? I've been getting advice from Hans Kerensky but he has gone quiet on me (hope he's OK), and I've even gone to the length of buying another shutter form ebay to compare - this looked brand new, I'm sure it's never been on a camera, and I just can't see any difference between how the escapement on that is set and the one on my original shutter.
Thanks!
Adrian
