It is engraved: -- Chess - United -- --USA -- . It could have been made for it. It is lined with black velvet.

The focusing part is derived from a Summicron Collapsible (LTM).

Next time I see dexdog I am mugging him. ;o) I do remember the old lens hoods which were lined with black velvet or felt. Back before the Spanish-American War. ;o)

Those lens caps are quite commonly found on cine lenses...just simple question of finding the right size!

About 350 or so Taylor Hobson cine lenses show up on eBay at the moment, but from what I can see there are not many that have anything close to a 37mm front lens cap given that the great majority are made for 16mm C-Mount. .

This has been my experience in looking for THC lens caps for the Amotal.

I have the lens hood, Chess United Precision Lens Shade Series V. It fits exactly into the Amotal. So thanks for the guidance. Now I will look for a lens cap to put on the lens shade/hood so that I can leave it in place. The wide end seems 2" so I should be able to find a cap if I do not have one already.

Later: Yes, I found a lens cap I already had which fits perfectly so now the lens shade/hood lives on the Amotal. Yes!!
