Other than being two stops slower, how does it compare with the 40mm Nokton f/1.4?

I used to have the 40mm 1.4, but it never made an impression on my one way or the other. I liked the Heliar 40.... it's tiny size is a bonus in my opinion, ..... i only sold it because i was given a 40 Summicron.

Personally, out of those two options, I'd go for the new 40mm Heliar - the LTM Color Skopars are all prone to unfixable haze problems.

And yes, sadly that also includes my much-beloved 28mm Color Skopar. There's no haze in mine yet, as far as I can tell. But I'm still stressing out about it.

I think in terms of size the Heliar is a great match for the size of the screwmount cameras. I have a 50 Color Skopar....and have used the 28mm 3.5.... in the past. But now i have a 28mm Canon 2.8 which i like a lot.
