Pentaxians... Any out there?

Got my K-3, 18-55, 50-200, YN P-TTL flash for the price less than most of Canon L lenses (used).
But it is weather sealed camera/lens kit, nothing from Canon is close to it.

ISO 12800 is not bad at all for two hundreds $, used camera.

Just was out awhile ago for Cherry Blossom Time behind the house on the mountainside here in Japan with a couple vintage late 1950s Takumar lenses on my Leica SL. Can't say I'm a 'flower photos' kind of guy, but it is traditional/iconic Japan this time of year, and I enjoyed the view through these. The 1957, made for only 1-year, 58mm f/2 Sonnar design has become maybe my favorite normal lens for its interesting 'character,' and the 135mm f3.5 is just plain sharp. Both have the pre-set aperture 2-rings which works so well for smooth adjustment of live viewable bokeh. Got them both with the Asahi AP, which is in need of shutter help, but am looking forward to using it with its big bright ground glass finder and Leica M-size in the hand.

That is what I’ve read. No experience with other digital cameras, but the SL with its thin cover glass is designed to work well with M-series glass, and I guess other film-era lenses also.

It should be a niche camera, but it is nice that Pentax is making a niche camera. I think the DA Limited lenses on this monochrome camera could be really fun.

For me, this is my discovery of Takumar lenses, adapting them to a modern digital camera. Can not say it is a total surprise, being into Leica since the early 1970s, the old Takumar lenses were said then to be the most Leica-like in solid build and image rendition. Of course I still like my Leica glass, but these Takumar lenses are now just sooo cheap, good, and totally satisfying, they will become my go-to option to add a focal length or just something unique - want a Takumar 35mm f2.3 and Macro 50 f4 ;-)

I have a FA43 Limited which was great lens in film, but has noticeable CA in DSLR
I guess that will be gone in the monochrome

Im saving for the 77 Limited, that one seems also amazing

A lot of Pentax lenses are film designs and have some CA with digital. I pretty much edit all of my RAW files from the K-1 II in DXO, however, because the JPEG engine isn't really as good as the one on the GR IIIx, and why hamstring these amazing files with a poor JPEG? So I can remove CA.

CA can be identified and removed in colour photos but manifests just as unsharpness in monochrome. It is easier to deal with in colour photos. I found the 43mm Limited super sharp on film, including on Adox CMS20, APX25 and Acros. Interesting that you saw CA. I’m looking forward to using it on a Monochrome dSLR.
