It’s simple enough for the lab to pull the leader out and see if it has remjet backing. If so then reject it.
I blame the idiot that sent the film to the lab and equally blame the lab for not checking any bulk film they receive. Simple to do.
I don’t blame Kodak. Kodak make a cine product that anyone can buy. They have no more control over how you use it than Chevy has as to how you use their cars or Jack Daniel has over how you use their whiskey. You’re an adult and expected to know enough to use the produce responsibly and the way intended. You’re no longer a child, hopefully.
What the lab should do is check every roll of bulk loaded film and have a policy that states if you send in a roll that gets through our check and it messes up the chemistry, machine and others work you are financially responsible. You pay!
