Well-known

One from my mom's archive. Early September 1942, three soon-to-be high school seniors heading out for a weekend of camping before school starts. My mom's brother is behind the wheel, with his two best friends. By the end of the school year in June 1943, they all had their draft notices, headed to the Army and Europe. All survived the war.

By the end of the school year in June 1943, my uncle had the car, a 1929 Model A, in pretty good shape, at least the exterior. While he was away in service, my mom drove the car and continued upgrading it, redoing the interior and having a roof installed. Sadly, it was stolen in late 1945, a few weeks before my uncle returned home. Here's what it looked like in late 1943/early '44, before the roof was installed. The two friends of my mom are unidentified. I'm also not sure of the location, possibly Long Beach (CA).One from my mom's archive. I live in a small town in East Tn and have been exploring the countryside since I got my first car. As much as I’m familiar with the roads I occasionally find something unexpected.
