Weekend Photography Plans: What are you up to?

We've had an intense and very welcome monsoon season in NM; the normally brown and dry plains are green and lush. Today, they're dotted with small ponds from yesterday's deluge. They're somewhat incongruous, and seem almost to glow with their own light at dusk. I'll be heading out soon to take advantage of this rare visual treat.
Hopefully you will get some good photos and you will post it!

Well, it's another beautiful day here in Silicon Valley ... Had breakfast with the guys, went shopping, filled up the tank in the car. So now it's time for a walk and some lunch. I think I'm just about done with my third roll of film through the IIIc... If so, I'll pull it and process it later on, otherwise I'll go finish it on my walk and process it when I get back.

Addendum to my post of a few hours ago. The Pirate Festival was a bust. Today was like mid-October, with temps in the 50's, a stiff wind blowing off Lake Charlevoix, and scattered showers. Took a quick 30 minute walk through town, and called it quits. Didn't even take my camera out of its case.

Hoping to find parking in downtown Pittsburgh so I can get some architectural shots. OTOH I may get drafted into installing the new plants we bought today.

It is supposed to hit 105 degrees today here in Texas. It was 103 yesterday. My plans include staying inside with cool air and a cold drink. Later, I will watch the Dallas Cowboys play a meaningless exhibition game on TV, while the cat sleeps in my lap. This year, Mother Nature decided we needed an extension of the dog days of summer.

Process a roll of film exposed with the M4-2 and Pentax 43. Maybe load up the Instax SQ back for the Hasselblad 500CM and shoot that as well.

... Or go for a bicycle ride and be damned with all the rest. :D

Some rain pushing through this evening so it is cooling off a bit. I may take a stroll downtown to the coffee shop early tomorrow morning while the air is clear and see if I find anything worth exposing a few frames on. You never know, maybe the sun will come out for awhile. I have twelve left in the old Contax II so I'll keep my fingers crossed and away from the rangefinder. :D

Okay, yeah: I didn't go for the bicycle ride because I pulled a muscle in my lower abdomen/groin a couple of days ago and, while it's feeling much better, I decided it was better to give it another day's rest.

So: I loaded up the Instax SQ back on the Hassy 500CM and shot a pack of B&W ... a few nice photos, maybe I'll scan them soon.

And the Ferrania P33 that I put through the M4-2/Pentax 43 got processed: I guessed right, the negs look just about perfect, and I'll scan them tomorrow and see if there are any photos worth posting from there. The M4-2+Pentax 43 really produces super results!

... And then the Color-Skopar 35/2.5 that I ordered arrived: it looks just about brand new, never used, not a mark on it! A genuine bargain, in the box with caps, etc. Can't wait to fit it to the IIIc and run another roll of film through with this lens...

A good photography day. :D

I hope to drive to Banks, OR, tomorrow for the second day of the Banks BBQ, truck and tractor pull and the Sunday special, Combine Demolition Derby. Yes, you heard that right. We had thunderstorms today but tomorrow is predicted and sunny with clouds. Perfect for photos of the demolition derby, yeeha! Eat your damned hearts out. LOL

To quote the once-famous Jack Paar, "I kid you not."

PNW bad news. We had the rare thunderstorms here yesterday and today is off and on rain. A five hour round trip to gamble on being able to shoot is more than I want to do. So I will have to say that I hope next year is sunny. They have the Combine Demolition Derby every year.

Laundry and housekeeping instead. Sheesh. ;o(
