I convinced my parents to buy a Renault 12 wagon back in the '70s. Man, was I wrong. Total piece of junk -- unreliable (electrical especially) and idiosyncratic controls, switches, etc. Our mechanic did heroic efforts to keep it going. Anyway, back to our regularly scheduled programming....I believe it did say Renault which in the US, are rarities in general

Is that a Renault? ^^
It's a Renault R10.
I had one. It was a great little car! It ran great; it was fun to drive; and it had 4-wheel disc brakes!
I later had a Renault R16, which was a completely different vehicle, but I loved it too. It had a suspension that soaked up bumps like you wouldn't believe. It rode like a much larger car. The long torsion bars in the rear were staggered, resulting in a different wheelbase on each side.
Among all the cars I have owned, these stand out as favorites.

I've never seen carbs hung off the sides of a supercharger like that before.

They would have blocked vision so I fabricated the manifold to get them low and to the sides. Throttle mechanism was aircraft fittings and cable, which worked quite well. Solid linkage would have been a nightmare.

Calgary was where I built the car, sold it around 1974. It got passed through several owners and is now in the NW USA somewhere. I’ve seen photos on the web, present owner occasionally exhibits it.So where in Alberta were you ?

No doubt taken before the owner was asked to move the car as the shadow it cast was cutting into their energy production. 😄And parked in front of solar panels.
