I don't think so. I'm guessing the image would look essentially the same with almost any decent modern camera. What sets it apart is the nice lighting. At least IMNSHO. But nice job.
Yes, it is the light. It seems it is always the light. All we are doing is shining light into a dark box.

Yep. If I were to teach a class in photography today, I'd limit students to one cheap camera and fixed lens and have them spend a few months doing nothing but photographing the the light around themYes, it is the light. One more from same session with Canon 50mm f0.95, checking to see how distance from subject affects the dreaminess of the image. I was hoping to capture a bit of the feel of Hollywood glamor portraits from the first half of last century. Please note: these images were done with existing as-found lighting in an old house. We didn't have the advantage of studio lighting.

When my father was alive we would often go camping in the Eastern Rockies. I'd taken the Technika down to the lake near our camp and on returning found my father enjoying his pipe. This was shot using a 6x7 roll back on Super Technika V and 150mm Symmar, all done BIG Leica fashion, hand held, rangefinder focus.

I am just blown away by this portrait. It has everything. Think “Grapes of wrath”. So nice to have this memory of your father. If you don't mind, when was it taken?

Quite apart from the exceptional portrait, this image begs the puzzling question of why medium and large format technical cameras (like the OP's Technika) get virtually no attention here on RFF. They're interchangeable-lens rangefinders, right? I am completely in love with my 6x9 Horseman 985; it's incredibly versatile and compact, was dirt cheap, and travels well. Why do these cameras have so few fans?

This is from 1972. Barbara and I had just gotten a rental in Virginia Beach for my first duty station in the Navy. I had just bought my first good camera, a Mamiya Sekor 1000DTL with a 55/1.4 lens at the base exchange. I still have it. This was one of the first pictures I ever took with it, using Kodachrome slide film. I am not sure I ever have done anything better. Beginner's luck.
