Changed out the grip and stuck on cold shoe for a Neewer cage.
Fits well, has a good grip, strap lugs for a vertical carry, ARCA plate on the bottom and a removable side cage for the EVF.
When I want the full waist level shooting experience I can mount my monitor and set it to flip the image right to left.

That cage looks good, much better access to the shutter button than the Smallrig cage and at last a cage with the Arca tripod mount, I never understood why the Smallrig missed that out.
I might get one of these.

I like the EVF design of the cage as it leaves that side empty. My Dark Power Labratory SSD mount should still fit with the camera in the cage.

Nice, how do you like the 18-40? Looks like a good size for the FP.

I have been pleasantly surprised by the 18-40mm, it's obviously very slow but my copy is sharp into the corners even at full aperture, there is a really nice look to the images, I'll post some photos once I've used it a bit more.
The only problem I've had with it is that being so slow the Fp focusses very poorly in low light, but then that's what my Sigma dg dn 20mm f1.4 on my SL2-S is for.
18-40mm on full frame is a really handy range for wandering the streets and it does make for a compact rig on the Fp.
Really liking the new grip, I might just hang onto the Smallrig in case I give in and buy an Fp-l...

Thanks for the mini-review, trix4ever. I must say I hadn't focused on this lens until I saw your picture of it. It looks really handy, and I'm taken by it's small size. As you say, it goes well physically with the Fp.

Just finished up a project to take shooting the fp at waist level, to the next level. (such a knee slapper)
I started with a tiny remote release from ebay and opened it up to shorten the cable by about 2.5'. Then 3d printed a cold shoe foot for it. Have the same type of release on order for my Panasonics too.
Added the tiny Smallrig handle to my fp L which has locking cold shoes. Moved my 7" monitor (and mount) from the S1H over to the Sigma. The whole thing with battery on the monitor and in the Sigma is just under 3 pounds.

It balances nicely in my hand and the remote release lets me trigger shots with my thumb.
I also have much larger batteries for the monitor that have USB, 8v and 12v outputs. With that I could power the Sigma via USB (or dummy battery) and have this combo run for a very long time.

Went for a quick walk this morning trying out the waist level setup with the 35mm f1.2 on 1:1 to go for a 6x6 TLR look. Very front heavy but fun to shoot.
I tried inverting the screen horizontally (like a WLF on a TLR or my Bronicas) and it broke my brain. Which was interesting since I don't have any problem using those on film cameras. Think it was the difference in using the grip vs. how I would hold a Bronica.
