[insert pithy phrase here]
I used to climb in the Buttermilks before it was a "known" location....back then I worked for the state and traveled around to a lot of neat places (fish and wildlife)... always brought my shoes and chalk bag with me. Found myself in Bishop occasionally... I thought I discovered my own bouldering paradise....and in a way I had. Very few climbers knew about the buttermilks before the 90's, even fewer in the early 80's. Not anymore 🤔. Not sure how I feel about that.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again, much respect to climbers back in the day - discovering new areas and putting up first ascents! I first visited the Buttermilks about 15 years ago. Since then, climbing and bouldering have become much more popular, for better or worse. Personally, I just enjoy climbing outside in beautiful places and the Bishop area has that in spades. And now I get to do it with my kids, which is the best part. 😁I used to climb in the Buttermilks before it was a "known" location....back then I worked for the state and traveled around to a lot of neat places (fish and wildlife)... always brought my shoes and chalk bag with me.
