Agreed regarding the looks of the Ferrari. But then I feel like this holds true for most all car manufacturers because for me personally automotive design peaked between the early 60s and the early 70s, give or take. I feel this is largely due to ever increasing safety regulations that began to take effect during the mid-70s. Such regulations certainly worked to make cars safer, just not better looking.

For example, I like the looks of my Honda S2000. As a relatively modern car it looks quite good to me. But it just can’t compare with so many of the beautiful cars that sported chromed metal bumpers back in the day before the need for “5 MPH bumpers” went into effect (1974?). To my eye automotive aesthetics have largely been downhill ever since.

I liked the dashboards from that era, as well. They were simple, elegant, and free of the clutter on later dashboards.

The Fanalone "kit" I worked with was a huge pain to install, but it came out well; I really like the results. To my eye, it gives the Fulvia Coupé a nicely aggressive look at the front end, and was what I was after when I decided to go with the standard coupe instead of the SportGT Zagato.

Funnily enough I was watching a video over the weekend and in it the fanalone configuration for the Fulvia was mentioned. I thought to myself “hey, I know what that is!” lol. I meant to share a link here, but naturally I got sidetracked and completely forgot.

Yeah, pretty much everything that Harry does is well above my pay grade and then some. Yet it strikes me that his passion for cars is quite genuine and his ability to communicate the joy that he gets from cars and motorcycles alike is rather endearing. I stick to his videos focusing on the older cars and the motorcycles. The best thing about that Lancia series of videos is that he spent so much time focusing on the craftsmen (and their work) who returned his car to its former glory. While there are plenty of people who could afford to pay for such work, I doubt that many of them would genuinely admire and appreciate all of their efforts the way that Harry did.
