What have you just BOUGHT?

I think I have photos of most of the old collection. It is strange how I really don't miss most of those cameras and lenses. Occasionally I do miss something just a little.... usually when I see one of them here at RFF.

I'm glad I took the time to pull out just the most important stuff (to me) and kept that. It was a good exercise for my mental health, and it was a dramatic paring down.. I feel like I still have plenty of cameras and little Interest in acquiring new ones. My GAS interest now is on very conscious selection of a new lens now and then. My LTM and M mount lens collection was the first thing I knew I would keep. I'm about due for an addition........🤔

Yup. And on my cheap laptop, and to my unsophisticated eye, I can't see much difference between the Chuzhao shots posted above and the postings from the guys with the Expensive Stuff. No doubt under more extreme lighting conditions the difference would be very visible, but the fact remains that 25 years ago, professionals would have paid thousands for this level of quality, and did!

Totally agree, when I am in the UK I very rarely see any photo stuff in general charity shops. Almost never photos. I have a friend who sorts and most of it gets shunted off to specialist sales. Here in France you just rarely get charity shops except Emmaus.
 
I sold my SL66E last year, but it was damaged in shipping. I had not used it in a while but it was working well before the shipping. So the buyer returned it, and I sent it for repair of a stuck mirror and the film advance mechanism, probably jarred when the package was thrown by someone. Anyway, I had the repairs done locally by a shop that knows these SL66's. Had a CLA and the camera works great, smoother film advance and focusing, cleaner viewfinder. So,,,,I decided this will be my medium format film camera. I know its quirks, weight, and operation well. And it's fun. With spring almost here, I'll take it onto Kelly Drive in Philly for the cherry blossom explosion that is coming soon, boaters and regattas, and people watching along the Schuylkill river. To add to the fun, I bought this wide angle monster, the Rollei Zeiss Distagon 40mm f4 lens. Like a 23-24mm lens in 35mm lens view.

Landscapes will be great for this set up. Glad things worked out the way they did with my earlier failed sale!

It's a slog sometimes, there was a Yashica Electro 35, but as usual in our local ones, overpriced....The postcards were a lucky find as I don't usually look through postcards, not sure why I did this time! And at 25p each thought they were cheap enough.

Should you feel the inclination to share photos, I'm sure I'm not the only one curious to know what a 500-camera collection looked like, and of course "Before" and "After" shots!

It could just be a temporary thing, but lately I've been feeling "camera'd out".
