“Right to repair” legislation and the camera industry

I know Nikon will now sell parts directly to the end user, but Leica won’t. (I was hoping they would sell me a lens mount so I could six bit code my Elmar-M 50/2.8.) I suspect this will be more and more common as time goes by.

Has anyone noticed parts getting easier to buy?

AFAIK, Sony and Panasonic never stopped selling parts, and one source for them is Encompass.

AFAIK, Sony and Panasonic never stopped selling parts, and one source for them is Encompass.

It’s not a matter of stopping selling, but forcing manufacturers to start offering them to others.
