W/NW : Motorcycles

Are those W1 or W2? Do you know how old are they (from the license plates, for instance)? Beautiful bikes.

The W1 has the brake pedal on the left side. Those two in the picture have the brake pedal on the right side.
The W2 had a front drum brake and the W3 was upgraded with twin disc brakes on the front.
So, the orange one is a W2 and the blue one is a W3.
Production of the Kawasaki 650 W series ended in 1974.

I'm no expert so someone else may chime in and correct me.

All the best,
Mike

I think you're right. Thanks. I myself own a Kawasaki W800 (at least this IMG_0520.jpgis how they are called in Europe), which I think is the direct descendent of those wonderful W.

Lol that's Italian production for you. I'm guessing they had a few ;aying around and threw them on. I highly recommend the Mistral pipes! beautiful in sound and appearance.
Did you get the tail piece for the pillion portion of the seat? I was lucky that my dealer had one in stock -- they're now unavailable.

One thing I'd recommend are engine guards -- I got the Moto Guzzi versions. I looked at the Givis but didn't really like the look.

Vince, I did not get the tail piece. I'll check with the dealer for availability here in PA. I know engine guards are a good idea, but I hate to impact the lines of the bike.
Those particular engine guards are actually fairly unobtrusive, so they’re hardly noticeable.

As far as the tailpiece goes, they’ve been discontinued and are ‘unavailable’. When my dealer in Toronto checked for worldwide availability, there was one in Japan.
