After a discussion about 90mm lenses elsewhere in the forum, I picked up an immaculate 90mm Elmarit in LTM, tweaked my M240's rangefinder to make sure it would play nice, and took it to EVE Wrestling in London - an all-female professional wrestling show - to properly test it out.

To be honest, I enjoyed the show so much I mostly forgot to even get my camera out, but goddamn, this lens is fantastic.

If I wasn't moving to the other end of the country soon, I'd definitely go back next month and make a note to actually shoot more. And if you're in London and fancy a different night out, I highly recommend giving EVE a go. It was a bloody good time.

Tweak the camera RF? Was it out of spec? I have a couple LTM lenses I'd like to use on my digi M but they're clearly off focus. Yes, tried different adapters, including Leica, but problem is likely slightly out of spec lenses. Seem to be close enough focus on film Barnack, but it's been a while so maybe that's just wishful memories.
Anyway, I hope you didn't adjust your 240's RF just for one lens? Too bad the EVF doesn't work very well in dark situations. I probably would have tried that.....
Wrasslin' is something I've never been to see.

Fun. As a kid in Memphis TN wrestling on Saturday morning tv was huge. I remember being furious at the comedian Andy Kaufman who would come to town and wrestle women. The feud between him and Jerry Lawler became a nationwide phenomenon. Back story was touched on in his biopic in the 90’s. Fun memories.

The M240's RF has been fine for various 50mm lenses, but everything longer didn't focus correctly at longer distances, no matter what lens or adapter I used.

The Elmarit worked fine on a Leica III, so I thought I was just struggling with the M240's lower-mag rangefinder on long lenses, but the results were still out of focus when I tried a goggled 135mm Hektor. I checked the infinity calibration, and sure enough, it was out. Glad it's such an easy fix - it's just annoying you can't do it with the lens mounted like you do on a screwmount.

We used to have our own wrestling scene on TV back then - Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks, Adrian Street, etc. - and as a result I didn't see Jerry Lawler at all until the late 90s, and didn't see any of his earlier work until Youtube came around much later. That "fight" between him and Kaufman on a US chat show (Letterman?) was fantastic, though. That pair knew how to work a crowd.

Late post sorry. Possibly too thick or thin adapters. Tried two pre-coded adapters for my LTM Elmarit 90/2.8, to no avail. Finally drilled out one coding pit on a Leitz adapter and it works fine on MEV1, M11 and M240 since then. Here with M11.
