Adox Sport 6x9 - How to remove the film advance knob?

i am strugling here trying to finish off the cla on a Adox Sport. I can not figure out how to remove the film advance knob. It needs to be done so that i can take off the top cover.

There is a small bar going across the bottom end of the advance lever (the part that is in the camera) and i am able to remove it and put it back in. I tried blocking the knob with a screwdriver after removing the small bar, but it did not help at all. The knob on top of the camera will not unscrew.

Any help would be highly appreciated

Does the knob pull up to load film? If it won't unscrew, perhaps there is a set screw hidden on the underside.

not pulling up. the compartment expends at the bottom to load the film. i was using a fairly big amount of force to try to get pry the knob off, but not chance. i am not confindent in increasing force.

when advancing the film, only the center part that is holding the little bar is moving. the wider part above it stays in place.

it kind of feels like a situation where one would have to take the little bar out and push the knob center knob construction towards to top to get it out of there. but that didn't work either

I am supposing that this is reverse threaded such that it tightens when you wind film, I have worked on other folders where this is the case. You don't say which way you were turning but did you try this?

I usually put a spool in and hold it tight then turn the knob clockwise; using a spool provides a weak spot that will break before the camera does. There may have been something applied to lock the thread also.

i was trying to turn the knob counterclockwise. I tried a bit of rotating clockwise but it will just block Did not try with pliers. I will put a plastic spool in later and see if it might unscrew with pliers.
Turning counterclockwise is the direction the film advance works.

i found this video which at around minute 7 shows the use of clamps and rather strong force. i will try that later. crazy how tight these knobs can be on there lol

if anyone cares: i was able to get the knob off using quiet a bit of force. had to use a plumbers clamp on the knob and some pliers to hold the part inside the camera in place. it unscrews the opposite of the arrow direction
