I was posting some stuff to Instagram today and recalled that I have explicitly used this site as a place where I can really just post images that represent a slice of my life". In fact I have headed it "A life in pictures". Stuff I have done, people I have known, places I have been, hobbies - other than photography - that I practice, personal experiences I have had. And so forth. I try to keep the image quality high but I feel less constrained than I may be here are RFF, because I don't really feel the need to excel on these other sites as they are really explicitly about documenting my life more than trying to produce "art" or respond to a theme that someone has chosen for me.
As a result, there is a mixture of stuff - of course some of it appears here on RFF in some form or other. Other stuff possibly (probably) never will. While some of it is about family stuff, (as most people do) mine is broader than this and is almost like me uploading my memories and experiences (and thoughts sometimes) to the web, recognizing that one day (not anytime soon I hope) I inevitably will not be here so it may be useful for friends to remember me by. ( I am hale and hearty and have no immeidate plans to drop off the twig. But after all, I am of a "certain age" so there is a certain inevitability about it all in the long run.)
I wonder if anyone else does anything of the same sort. It would be good to share this stuff and might be a way to get an interesting insight into other people on RFF.
My Facebook serves a similar purpose but there is not a one to one correlation between them as some images make it to one site but not the other - this is pretty much arbitrary though.
