I have always lusted after a pre-asph 35mm 'cron for my MP and I just managed to swap my mint 35mm f1.5 Canon ltm lens for a nice condition 1992 M 35mm f2 'cron in black.

I know the quality that the Canon lens elivered was great (if a little odd in the corners), but should the 'cron be better? I understand the date makes it a 4th version, which is supposed to have great bokeh, but can anyone give me a little reassurance? OK, I know I cannot use the new lens on my IIIa, but I have a Jupiter for 35mm on that body.

Please, tell me I did the right thing............

I think it is a fine lens. The only complaint that really is legitimate is it has been quite expensive in the past few years.

Sharp, compact, great signature. You did fine. In any event, you can shoot it soon and decide for yourself. Even if you end up not liking it, you will have no difficulty selling it, as they are in high demand (thus the high prices).

good luck
