Finally got my first leica "thing" a 1953 50 3.5 elmar redscale. No oil on blades, no scratces on glass, a little dust inside, no haze or anything else, body and barrel in very much excellent condition, 90 dollars at a camera store. Not bad I think, all the signs say that its real too, so far so good.

Now then...what is the best screw to m adapter out there for me? I need one that bring up the 50mm lines. I have seen some 20 dollar jobs on ebay and some other stuff everywhere else but wondering which one is the best or best bang for buck out there.

Also is there any filters or lens hoods that can be had for this lens?

If you can't find a decently priced Leica version, try Steve at CameraQuest.com. His stuff works first try. Add to the fact he now owns this place he should be a great source.

i just picked up a 5cm leica brand adapter on keh.com for $40. i have the other sizes from voigtlander and they're great. also a great value for the money if you can't find a used one...

Frankly, since the camera has manually selected frame lines find any adaptor for as cheap as you can. If you want, I have a VC 28/90 adaptor you can have for $20+shipping by paypal.

I just discovered something absolutly crazy!

The eye piece thing that goes on the bessa and zeiss cameras FITS on the end of the 50 elmar 3.5 perfectly into the threds! That is cool....now the big question is....is the glass inside the eye piece of a quality high enough to be in front of a lens?

That is a neat trick!

I use the filter's made by Walz for the Argus C3 50mm lens. They fit perfectly as well. I think it is a 19mm thread.
