Do all Leica 35mm f2 and f1.4 lenses fit RD1?
Do any of them NOT fit?
I was disappointed that the Nikon RF 3.5cm f1.8 does not fit.

Yes, they should. Screwmount lenses as well with the apropriate adapter. The Nikon 35/1.8 should fit if it is screwmount with a LTM adapter.

My M5s need red dots!
I thought the RD-1 had the Leica thread mount, and not the M... Am I right? It wouldn't take M lenses, only the older ones and the recent CV ones.

The Nikkor 3.5cm f1.8 lens with the Nikon S mount does not fit the RD1. I tried it with an S-to-M adapter. The rear cylinder of the lens mount interferes with the focus cam follower of the RD1. But the 3.5cm f2.5, and 2.8cm Nikkor lens fits.

The RD-1 is M mount.

Absolute misinformation.
I have two Nikkor 3.5cm f/1.8 Leica screw mount lenses and both mount and focus perfectly on an R-D1 with no problems or obstructions.
I have one on a Leica M-adapter and one on a generic M-adapter.
The Nikkor 3.5cm f/2.5 also fits and is probably the sharpest 3.5cm I have ever used on an R-D1. It's astonishingly good.

PS: The results with this lens are beautiful:

The 35mm Summilux with bug eyes will not fit...the bug eyes are not removable (Made for the M3)

That's true, Leitz lenses with "eyes" do not fit the Epson R-D1.
But a common misconception is that the DR Summicron does not work on the R-D1. This is false.
It works perfectly as long as the "eyes" are removed. The confusion arises because the R-D1 manual states that the DR Summicron cannot be used on the R-D1, but it's only referring to the use of the lens when the "eyes" are attached.
Otherwise, the lens is superb. The sharpness of a high resolution Summicron with a bit less contrast than the modern Summicrons, it perfectly compliments the R-D1 sensor.

True enough, but the Summilux has a mounted bug eye....you can remove the bug eye by removing the small screws but then on a Leica, it brings up the 50mm frame...but the real problem is that for some reason after re-installing the bug eye.....the focus shifts.....don't ask why but Leica fixed mine after I sent it in.....still a real beaut.........

The DR Summicron has "eyes" that are designed to be removable.
That's a completely different story than dismantling lenses with integrated goggles.

I can confirm the 2.5/35mm W-Nikkor-C works on the Epson. Alas no rangefinder coupling below 70cm - but this is also the case with Leica M and Bessa bodies.Vickko said:The Nikkor 3.5cm f1.8 lens with the Nikon S mount does not fit the RD1. The problem of Vicks 1.8/35mm Nikkor must not be typical for every such lens - I have noted that several lenses did not couple correctly on a particular Epson body, but then worked fine on another. The focus cam follower can be adjusted in the Epson.

Vick, it's the adapter that's the problem, not the lens per se. The LTM version of the 3.5cm/1.8 W-Nikkor has a slightly different-sized rear element than the standard version for Nikon RF, so when it's attached to any Contax RF-LTM or Contax RF-M adapter (or similar Nikon RF-LTM or M adapter) the combination of the rear element & the cam of the adapter is too large. Your combination will probably not fit any other Leica M mount camera, not just the R-D1, either. I know because I have tried, w/both Contax RF-LTM & Contax RF-M adapters.
The 3.5cm/2.5 W-Nikkor will work w/your adapter, however.
