I've got a very nice Serenar 28/3.5 that I'd like to get the appropriate caps for - the nice metal screw on rear cap & the Canon embossed front cap of the right diameter. I've been looking around the net but haven't found anything yet. On the highly probably chance that I missed something I thought I'd ask for pointers here.

Oh and the leather case for one would be nice to find too - especially if it's cheap... :bang: :bang: :bang:

😀

Thanks all,

William

original caps are about 20 bucks each.
there are lots of generic rear screw caps for cheap on ebay.

i have a 'user' case if you want it. the bottom is held on by bits of band aids, it's how i got it. it could use a bit of sewing but it's not tattered or anything. inside is ok. 10 bucks to box it and put it in the mail?

Expect to pay up to $40 from a dealer. That's what a good dealer told me when he saw one of mine (which I was using to cap a Summicron-C). I keep an eye on eBay for lens caps that I'm looking for. But don't underestimate dealers--that same dealer sold me the original cap for that Summicron for $10.

Nikon made a nice 34mm clip on cap with a nice "Nikkor" embossed on it.

Did I put that on the Leitz or the Canon...

Bet bets are Pacific Rim and Ritz Collectable Cameras (now Collectable Cameras) for the front caps. That's where I got mine. My problem has been finding a suitable (the right thickness) replacement felt for the inner groove. Yuri carries the rear caps--they're cheap.

Bill58- judging from your list of cameras, you must be familiar with Jon Goodman's seal repair kit. I found the thinnest foam material to be perfect for replacing the deteriorated felt on my Canon caps

I just put a strip of white cloth first aid tap in the rim of 42mm and 36mm caps to tighten them up for my 50/1.5 and 35/2.8. Does that count as my first camera repair?
