Hi!

I have a canon 7 with the horizontal rf a little of at infinity.I tweaked it so it's ok at infinity - does it mean it will be ok at minimal focusing distance as well?

Yes, unless there's some other internal damage (uncommon on a 7) or someone else munged it up previously. Odds are good that it's fine. If in doubt, try this: make a viewer by sticking a piece of frosted transparent tape over the bottom of an 8x or better loupe (make sure the tape lies flat.) Put the camera on a tripod, open the shutter on T, and open the camera back. Put the viewer on the inner film guide rails. Focus via rangefinder on various close objects and examine the film-plane image using your viewer.

This isn't a super-precise test, since your viewer isn't super-precise, but it should allow you to assure yourself that close-distance focusing is reasonably accurate.

I think I'll just shoot a film and see how it goes wharpness wide.

Yes, if your wharpness is too wide, you may need to adjust the angle of your wharpilator.

Not trying to yank your chain, I know the "s" key is really close to the "w" and the "d"... in fact, I just love the word "wharpness"! Now somebody needs to think up a definition to go with it...
