Recently picked up a canon vt along with a 50 & 35 (both 1.8) from a garage sale. Everything seems to be ok. Except for the focus. Selected an apartment complex (about 500 m) away was the target. Both lenses as well as an Industar 50 shows to be aligned when the lenses are at about 5ft. Tried adjusting the horizontal alignment in the Rangefinder window. Doesn't work. Was able to adjust the vertical alignment using the screw next to the Viewfinder window.
Out of ideas. Any help would be great.

Wait, I think you have it mixed up, the screw next to the viewfinder should be horizontal, whereas the rangefinder window should be vertical.
Have you tried putting ground glass or a focusing screen and set the canon in "T" mode to see how it looks to be in focus at infinity?

Agree -- the screw underneath the screw by the viewfinder window is how you adjust horizontal (i.e. infinity).
