Agfa Scala. Pricey. Development is very pricey, since is done only by feeeew labs. Gorgeous film. The richness of a bw with the splendor of a slide.

Should be available now, Freestyle and Digitalruth are the distributors in the US.
A Data Sheet can be found here.
I hope you like it

erikhaugsby said:As another method, Ilford has a pdf of how to reversal-process any B&W film to a positive. It can get slightly messy and there are a few more steps than straight B&W processing, but it seems as if it would work.
I have not yet tried this method.

It come to mind that another option could be to contact print any negative you like on an internegative film but I have never tried this so I do not know whether you lose quality or what...

Easier still- shoot your favorite b&w film and send it to dr5.

They do excellent work, I've run several kinds of film through them, most recently to do silver prints in negative.
check them out.

I believe Foma makes a Fomapan Reversal B&W film, but I don't know who sells it now that J&C is defunct (perhaps Freestyle?). I tried some & got it developed by dr5. Looked fine, but the hassle(s) related to mailing it to dr5 was too much for me.

Wow, didn't realise Scala was still out there. Is this brand new stock? Who is making it, thought Agfafilm were defunct? Absolutely loved the stuff, just can't get that look in digital...

The data sheet seems to imply that this film is more for document copying as it has an actual ISO of 6. Did I read this right? Looks like the data sheet was translated using Google or some other software translation tool.

Not sure if it's fresh. When I talked to Main Photo this winter they told me they had just picked up several thousand rolls at the airport that week. I ordered a few rolls which are in my freezer. They are dated 7/2007. I do not know if they came from the aforementioned shipment. Give them a call.
I meant to add to my previous post that B&H still has Scala MF (120) in stock. Perhaps others do as well. Not sure if it is stale dated at this point.

We're all light!
I can't quite lay my hands on my current Freestyle catalog here (well worth signing up for, BTW...quite fun to flip through!), but when I last leafed through it, I'm pretty sure I saw Foma Reversal.furcafe said:I believe Foma makes a Fomapan Reversal B&W film, but I don't know who sells it now that J&C is defunct (perhaps Freestyle?). Agree on both counts. Never tried Foma reversal, but they have it.

I've shot the Fomapan Type R and had it developed by Dr 5. It worked very wellwith the tonal range of Scala but maybe a little more contrast. Bought from Freestyle.
