The best 50mm f1.4 I´ve used so far is the Summilux 50mm f1.4 in black paint of wich the number starts with1703XXX, 1959.

Super Takumar 50/1,4 (7-element) and Fomapan400



Same lens with bellows and Fuji film

I also have the Nikkor AIS 50/1.4 and it was wonderful, have to find photos taken with it

Nikkor-SC 5cm F1.4, an early "Japan" maked lens. Improved coating compared to the 5005 series, but still the earlier formula.
Wide-Open on the Canon 7, some 20+ years ago. Harsh lighting, handled very differently with the Summarit.

I had a Summilux-R 50/1.4 back when I was shooting with the Leica SL. It was a delightful performer!

My current 50mm lenses include a Color Skopar 50/2.5, Summicron-M 50/2, Summicron-R 50/2 and ... OH WAIT! I just remembered: I purchased a Voigtländer Heliar Classic 50mm f/1.5 VM last year! So I do have a super-fast 50mm at present ... 😀
