What is the best non M digital body for M lenses?

I've used M-mount and LTM lenses on a variety of cameras. Most did a passable/satisfactory job.

But in all cases, putting the lens on a Leica M digital body did the best. ANY of the Leica M digital bodies I've owned. Some of which are pretty reasonably priced now.

I've noticed putting M (or LTM) on Fujifilm bodies they didn't do as well as Fuji lenses. The digital bodies today use processing to make a better picture with the original maker's lens. If you want a digital body for your M lenses buy an M9.

Sigma fp and fp L have built in shading correction for up to 10 adapted lenses. You take a picture of a white wall and save that for the lens you are using and it will automatically compensate for any shading errors.

Woa I checked out what the Epson RD-1s go for now. Needless to say it would be completely idiotic getting one instead of a Nikon Zf, which can be had for less!
The Epsons are cool, but hell not $2k cool 🤣
I just picked up a rd1. We will see if I like it but I shot a m8.2 for 2 years and loved it. (currently looking for another) The RD1 camera seems to have a cult following and while I have not received the camera in the mail I am really looking forward to seeing some results from it. Luckily I got a good deal on it from a reputable camera store and did not pay 2k. that all being said I love shooting old digitals. Especially ones from when I was just getting into photography like the epson rd1. I could never afford one back then though.

Bit late to the reply on this one but this is 100% correct in my experience. Not only did using some LTM lenses on various Fuji X bodies look absolutely terrible in the corners (despite the crop sensor!), but the Fujis seemingly couldn't get the auto colour balance right with adapted lenses at all - they often skewed to purple for some reason, and I've never had that problem with proper X-mount lenses.
