μ[mju:] PANORAMA (Stylus)

I had Mju II (Stylus Epic) with panorama mode. I gave it away to RFFer on Giweaway thread. Also has external switch and blinds in film chamber (as well in VF).

I appreciate idea of having panorama-like pictures in pre-digital era, but whole concept is obsolete today, when film is scanned.

So, is it not a wider bit of negative exposed? Do they just crop down top and bottom?

These cameras (there a several) crop top and bottom to typically give a 36mm x 12mm negative 3:1.

Some labs can scan and print from these negatives, but many cannot.

You get exactly the same result by using the full 36mm x 24mm negative (3:2) and cropping the image yourself later.

Mju had a sheet with "PANORAMIC" stickers, I guess one had to label canister or film to inform personal they will have to either adjust printing machine...or maybe not to confuse, seeing black borders in front and bottom of print.

Maybe they used another ratio paper for this prints?
