There are some really cool cameras that both record the image digitally, but also do a B/W print out using till receipt rolls, so the kids can really have fun.

There ae some really fun cameras that both record digitally, but also print out B/W images by using thermal rolls. (till receipt rolls) They come in all many of shape and size, some like animals other that look like a Polaroid. They are designed for kids. You can also the draw on them etc. Look on Amazon/Ebay etc for thermal kids cameras

I know it's not going to fly, because it's a giant indestructible brick, but a Nikonos IV-A or V would be perfect for a camp situation, especially if there is canoeing or swimming. If I could talk to my 25 year old self, I'd demand that I take two Nikonos cameras to Iraq when I deploy. Even kids can't easily destroy them (aside from flooding...)

As long as the kids can be taught how to zone focus, the Nikonos II would be excellent, and also teach em Sunny 16.

I've made some selections thanks to this thread. On the way to me now are:

• Reto Ultra Wide and Slim
• Yashica Micro Elite AF

And a Minox 35GT from Shop Goodwill, just for me to play with. 🙂
