Hi all,

After 2+ years of using an RD-1 with its 1:1 viewfinder magnification I got accustomed to shooting with both eyes open, especially when doing portraits.

Thinking of an M8 with its 0.68x magnification, I wonder if anyone knows a manufacturer of a 1.5x magnifier (like the 1.25x of Leica) that could be used on the M8

This would increase result in a viewfinder magnification to 1.02x, the two extra percents won't be noticeable.

Any ideas?

Thanks

What frame lines would that leave visible. Definitly not the 24 and i dont think the 28 either.

I am looking at the 1.25 at the moment. But i have yet to figure out which frame lines that it will stop from being visible.

There are two magnifiers:
The original Leica one at 1.25 x and the Megaperls one at 1.35x(but that is not available in the USA or Germany due to patent issues)
The framelines should be well visible from 50, maybe 35 mm upwards. It makes no sense using it for wideangles anyway.

There also an alternative one from Hong Kong Supplies which is also 1.25 and which costs a quarter of the what the Leica one does.

Do a search for "Leica Magnifier" on ebay.

HKS were kind enough to send me a free sample with my Noctilux.
