Hong Kong 10th RFF HK Club meeting !!!

Happy New Year everybody !!!

After 2 failures in trying to organizing our 10th meeting, now I am suggesting the following :

1. There is a 2nd hand photo equipment flea market to be held in Wanchai the coming Sat and Sun (12/1 and 13/1), I suggest we can first start with this.

2. After that, we can lunch in Central (or nearby) and then start our photo taking challenge, which is :

"One lens, one roll of slide with an FM2 in Central District"

"FM2" ?!? SLR ?!?

Yes ! After chat with Louis and we both felt FM2 is the cradle of many photographers, and to celebrate our 10th meeting lets give tribute to FM2 !
But, of course, any classic SLR is welcomed !

What do you think ?

1/13 would be great. I am think about going to the flea mkt as well.

One question tho, I don't have any WORKING slr, unfortunately. Can I stick to my RF?

I'm good either day, but if we want to hit the flea market, we better go Saturday early before all good gear is gone!

I don't mind shooting with an FM2, but mine is in NY. I only have my FE2 here in HK. As for slide, that's all I used to shoot - Fujichrome. Happy to do so again, but it doesn't age as well as film, I've found.

Dingo, you're in the driving seat, so just say where and when and I'll be there.

..and i do agree with adrian's point regarding the "early bird" approach to the camera flea market. i was there last year and had a lot of fun ....with some disappointment. be warned.

And about the challenge, I think all SLRs from Nikon F, F2, FM, FE, FM2, or FE2 are great, even all Nikkormats/Nikomats are welcomed ! (Sorry, I am not a Canon fan.)

I will be joining you and 12/1 sounds better to me as well, unfortunately, I have no SLR, actually it is not completly true, I have a Leica R3 but it is out of order! And for the slide film I might also have a problem since I don't have any film gear anymore!!!! Do you still accept me?

I've seen that lens before! Must dust off my FE2. Think I'll be shooting a Tamron 90mm, F2.5, flat field focus. Here she is, mounted. 😎

Yes, that one is a ZF 50/1.4, I never shoot it with films before.

May I remind all HK club members that there will be a march on democracy on 13/1, which will start from Victoria Parkat 3:00pm and end at the Central , I am sure this would mean a lot of photographic opportunities however indifferent you are to the future political habitat of HK.
